Measures Against COVID-19

To avoid overcrowding, reservations are required to enter the campus for the 73rd Komaba Festival. Please book your entry to the campus following the regulations, which will be posted on this website shortly. If the number of applications exceeds the limit, whether you will be able to enter the campus or not will be determined by lottery.
When making a reservation, you will be required to fill in details, including your personal information such as your name and e-mail address, and agree to the measures against COVID-19 for visitors (written on this page). The personal information of those not granted entry to the campus in the preliminary lottery will be deleted immediately and appropriately. The personal information of those granted will only be used for confirming eligibility to enter the campus on the day of the Komaba Festival and for tracking purposes by public institutions such as health centers. This will also be deleted appropriately after the festival.
You are required to follow the following rules when entering the campus, other than making a reservation.
  1. Check your physical condition
  2. Wear a face mask
  3. Agree to report promptly to the 73rd Komaba Festival Committee if found positive for COVID-19 after visiting the Komaba Festival
  4. Keep a sufficient distance from others according to the instructions from 73rd Komaba Festival Committee members
Due to the high risk of infecting others, we will not allow the following persons to enter the campus.
  1. People who themselves or the people they live with have developed a fever or other cold symptoms within the past eight days*
  2. People returning from abroad or living with a person who has returned from abroad but has not completed the quarantine period determined by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare(MHLW). **
  3. People who have been recognized as having been infected with (or deemed positive for) COVID-19 and have not completed the isolation period specified by the MHLW.

*The eight days are set based on a document issued on 16 March 2022 by the MHLW's Headquarters for the Promotion of Countermeasures to Combat COVID-19 Infections to each prefecture and other authorities (based on the characteristics of the B.1.1529 strain (Omicron strain) while it was the predominant strain and the number of infected persons in each location.)

**Under current MHLWstandards, there is no quarantine period for those who have returned or entered the country other than the designated countries/regions and have received three doses of vaccine. The same policy is adopted for the Komaba Festival entry.

In addition, please read and agree to the following precautions before entering the campus.
  • When entering the campus, it is necessary to complete the prescribed procedures, such as taking body temperature and confirming eligibility to enter the campus at the thermo-station. The 73rd Komaba Festival Committee will guide you through the thermo-station when you enter the campus.
  • During the Komaba Festival, wearing face masks is compulsory on campus.
  • Please note that if you do not follow these measures or fail to oblige to any other instructions given by the 73rd Komaba Festival Committee, you will not be allowed to enter the campus or be forced to leave the campus.
