About Komaba Festival

What is Komaba Festival?

Komaba Festival is an annual school festival of the University of Tokyo held at the Komaba Campus in late November. Komaba Festival, which marks its 75th anniversary this year, is colored with a variety of projects unique to the University of Tokyo. Sophisticated academic projects, spectacular performances, and enjoyable stalls are all set against the background of the beautifully shining ginkgo trees. Each and every one of you will blend your own color with the scenery and create a unique pattern. We hope you enjoy this beautiful festival.

Greetings from the President

Thank you for visiting the 75th Komaba Festival official website.  First of all, we would like to thank everyone involved in the 75th Komaba Festival for their support in organizing the festival. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation for the support we received from the university community, local residents in Komaba, sponsoring companies, and many others. The theme of this year's Komaba Festival, "Blend Your Color," focuses on the various "thoughts" of everyone involved in the festival. Each person would have different feelings when it comes to school festivals.  It could be the sense of accomplishment of creating a project with others, the excitement of being captivated by a performance, or the memories of your youth. Various feelings come together. People with many thoughts and feelings meet, leave, and move on to new encounters at Komaba Festival. Such human interactions and overlapping thoughts will enrich and color the festival. Komaba Festival will become colorful with various people’s ever-changing thoughts. Please enjoy the festival to the end.
